Textured Muslin Gift Bag-Curtsey Boutique

Spackle and Muslin Bag Tutorial
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Jenifer Cowles
My Pinterest boards are filled with projects that use texture mediums and stencils, but until today I've been too chicken to try it for myself. Jen is back sharing a super easy project on adding texture to our muslin bags. I can't wait to try this out!

Jenifer placed a stencil over one of our muslin bags. Ensuring it was flat she used regular household spackle (found in any hardware store or even Walmart). She spread a thin and even layer over the stencil with a spatula and then lifted the stencil off.

Allow the spackle to dry completely based on the manufacturer's recommendations and then embellish. Jenifer topped her bag with our ruffled fabric ribbon, clothes pins,  fabric flowers and glitter butterflies.

Seize the Day Layout/Ruby Rock-It

Good Morning Ruby Rock-It fans.  I am so excited to share a layout I created with the new Handi Scandi collection.  Isn't this just the most fabulous set of papers ever!!  I just love the nice, crisp, fun colors this collection has in it.

I always have a hard time with double sided patterned paper. I usually end up liking both sides and then I have a huge dilemma of figuring out what side to use.  Well to solve this problem I cut my paper in half and then flipped one side over and taped it back together on the back :)  Perfect, problem solved!!

Here is a close up of my layout.  I cut out individual pieces of bling and stuck them randomly in some of the flower centers giving the paper a little bit of sparkle.  I printed out my journaling on a piece of vellum and I stacked a few of the tags together and tied it together with a ribbon.

By the Sea Treasure Box-TOW-Graphic 45

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share my fun Graphic 45 project.  I absolutely love the "By the Sea" collection and have seen some wonderful things made from it.  We recently made a fun trip to the Oregon coast and I thought this little trinket box would be the perfect thing to hold some of our mementos.
By the Sea treasure box:  Designed by Jenifer Cowles
ThermOWeb supplies used:
Fabric Fuse
Memory Tape runner
Foam Squares
Other Supplies used:
G45 By the Sea collection
Chipboard or recycle a box you already have
knob or handle for the top
If you haven't heard of the new Fabric Fuse you must go out and try it.  I know it says Fabric Fuse but it works wonderfully with paper crafts as well.  The bond was strong and it dried fast and made putting together this box quick and easy.
Graphic 45 makes the best papers and with all of the fun elements to cut out you can easily put together one of a kind pieces very easily.  Use Foam squares to make elements pop and stand out.

Add a handle or little knob to the lid of the box and it is complete and ready to be filled with goodies.

Craft Warehouse

Have you seen the fun news?  I have made the team once again for Craft Warehouse, it is a local NW craft store.  It is also the place where I was given my first opportunity to be on a Design Team back in 2008 and I have been grateful ever since.  Craft Warehouse will always hold a tender place in my heart.  Thank you again for the opportunity to design for you.

Elastic Lace-NEW RELEASE-May Arts

I was  so excited to be working with the new elastic lace, as soon as I received it I got to work.  I wanted to show a wide variety of uses for this new release.

First up is a fun layout using a piece of elastic lace to balance my picture and flowers.

Next up is an altered tin can, I layered some twine, burlap and then some elastic lace.  I am using  it to store brushes by  it would be nice for a wedding centerpiece.

For my last  piece I made this fun an  super easy tank top for my daughter, she  loves it and wears it all the time.
I hope I was able to inspire you with the wonderful new elastic laces, the hardest part will b  picking out what color to use;)

Monday Blues Baby Layout- Ruby Rock-It

What do you do when you wake up and feel like your kids are just growing up way to fast?  Well you scrap some of their baby pictures :)  I found this picture of my now 12 year old daughter and created a beautiful, soft and feminine layout.

I used the Epiphany crafts punch to punch out all of my vellum circles and then sewed them along the edge of my patterned paper.  I am so happy with how this layout turned out and it was fun to go back and scrap some of my older pictures.
