Never Been Stitched- TOW

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share my project from this fun book.  There were so many fun and easy projects in this book it was hard to choose only one.  My daughter has plans to make several of the projects over the summer and she can't wait to get started.  I couldn't wait to make the pencil roll on the cover.

It went together pretty fast and I am happy with the results.  I did make one change.  I used some hem tape and adhered some ribbon to the ends of the roll just to give it a little bit of stability and some a fun pop of color.

This is a great book for those just starting out or are a little bit rusty.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my project today and be sure to stop by for even more inspiration from this wonderful team.

Love card-WOW

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share my Antique project.  I am blown away by all of the wonderful projects that everyone has come up with for this months challenge.  Well done!!.  I had a bit of a hard time with it, Antique, vintage and shabby just kind of blend together for me.  I think my card turned out a bit more on the shabby side :)
I embossed with the De-Vine stamp and some vanilla white on a plain piece of white card stock, I then sprayed it with some pink color spray.  I thought that the pink was a bit to bright so I then white washed it with some white acrylic paint to mute it a bit.  After that I spread on some texture paste to give it a bit more dimension.  I then started layering my doilies, flowers and some fun flowers and frames from moulds using some Wow Melt-it and a mixture of Pastel Pink and Metallic Pink powders.  I'm not sure if it's Antique but I love this card non the less.

Here is a close up of some of the layers.

Featured Product / Heritage with Jenifer

Good Morning, this is Jenifer here with you to share this fun 8 1/2"x11" display that I made.  I love to use some of my favorite layouts and projects around the house.  You can quickly change it out with the seasons or when your mood hits.

This is my layout when it is flat and just sitting on the table.  It is cute and a lot of fun just like it is but when it is folded just so it becomes a fun piece of art.

Here it is from the top.  See how just a couple folds turn this into a showstopper.

Here it is again from another angle.  I want to thank you so much for taking the time to look at my project today.  I hope you come back soon to look at all the wonderful projects from this very talented team.

[W] on Wednesday-Ruby Rock-it

I have all sorts of reasons why I scrap.  Sometimes it is the story and the pictures, sometimes it is the wonderful product that just speaks to me, and sometimes I just need to make something.  This time it is the product.  The Heritage collection just makes me want to create.  The beautiful floral print on this piece of paper was just calling me to use it on a layout.  I would absolutely love it in fabric, could you just imagine the lovely dress it would make.

This is a very basic layout, with just a little bit of layers.  It is ok to have some basic layouts not everything has to have a lot of paint, embellishments and texture.

Here is a close up of my Layers.  I have a doily with some flowers and bling.  I put the journaling behind the picture on a fun little tag.

Yellowstone Mini-TOW/Ruby Rock-IT

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share my Ruby Rock-It post with you.  All I can say is the East coast collection is Beautiful!!  I had a hard time cutting into such elegant papers, so I decided to make a little elegant mini album with some of the left over pictures from out recent trip to Yellowstone.

Yellowstone Mini Album by Jenifer Cowles
Directions:  Cut the cover 6 1/2 x 12 and fold at 4", 4 1/4", 8 1/2", 8 3/4".  This will give us our cover, back and inside with room to attach the little book to the back and still have room for embellishments.

For the little book on the inside take 4 of your favorite cards that come in the East Coast collection and washi tape them together, front and back, with a little space in between the cards so that it can be accordion folded.

Last but not least add photos and embellishments.  Use foam squares to give a bit of dimension to the book.

Tutorial / Life is Good Canvas -Ruby Rock-It

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share the directions for how I created this fun piece of art work, it looks harder to do then really is.  I absolutely love the Heritage collection from Ruby Rock-it and will have a few more projects using it later on this month.

Step 1:  Punch out circles.

Step 2: create a square template that fits inside the circle.  Using a mechanical pencil trace the square on the circle.

Step 3:  Using the pencil lines as your guide fold up each of the 4 sides.

Step 4: I used a stencil and some spackle to give my patterned paper some dimension and texture.  Layer all of your folded circles as desired, folding down the folds to show the patterned paper on the back.  Add embellishments and quote.  Frame and hang.

Here is a side view of my framed artwork.  I am so pleased with how it turned out, it reminds me of a beautiful hand made quilt.
