Curtsey Boutique Designer
Jenifer Cowles
You know the expression "April Showers bring May flowers," here in Georgia we are have been getting loads of rain - we are even under a flood watch today and tomorrow. So I hope this means when it stops we will be surrounding in beautiful Spring blossoms.

Though I dislike the awful weather, I do love this time of year as many of my customers are preparing for weddings and other special occasions. It is the season for our fabric flowers. Jenifer shares with us today a quick and easy way to incorporate them in your hair. These headbands would be lovely for new baby photos, flower girls, and big birthday bashes. Our fancy blooms use no glue so sewing them on as embellishments is easy peasy.

Here are her easy 1-2-3 instructions:

1. Pick your elastic - it comes in tons of colors now a days
2. Measure your wearers head, cut elastic and tie a know 1" from the ends.
3. Sew on a Curtsey Boutique fabric flower with a few hand stitches.

Beyond the Page/Baby Birds Mini by Jenifer Cowles

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share this fun little mini I created to showcase some of the baby birds that we have been lucky enough to have hatch in our yard.

I love vellum and I was so impressed when I opened my package of Ruby Rock-It vellum, it is nice and thick and it has wonderful silver patterns and designs on them.  I added a touch of paint to my vellum pages and I just love how the silver designs still show through the paint.

I have a feeling that there is definitely more Ruby Rock-It vellum projects in my future.

Heart door hanger-May Arts/Pretty Posh

Hi thanks for stopping by today :)  For my Pretty posh post I thought I would do a fun little sewing project, just to be different.
This is just a little 4x4 reverse applique heart pillow.  Sew your patterned fabric under your canvas, sew your shape then carefully cut out (just the canvas) leaving your printed fabric exposed.  Hand sew the sequins in a fun shape. Sew pom poms, back and ribbon hanger leaving one seam exposed for turning.  Turn, lightly stuff then hand sew opening.  Hang.
May Arts ribbon used :
462- 1/2" pom pom
BH- edge stitched grosgrain
Sequins- Pretty Posh

Flower hanging-ThermOWeb

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today :)  For my spring project I found these super cool flower lamps on pinterest and decided to attempt to make my own.  I was a bit nervous about having fabric so close to a bulb so mine is just created around a burned out light bulb.  Yeah hoo recycling at the same time.

Here is what I came up with.

Bloom Canvas-Ruby Rock-It

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share my first Ruby Rock-it post :)  So exciting!!  I was so surprised to receive some wonderful flowers from Ruby Rock-It, I didn't realize they had flowers.  So my spring project is all about the Ruby-Rock-It flowers.

If you don't have the correct shade of flower just dye, mist or paint the white flowers to the color you are looking for.  The red, orange and green flowers were colored.  Here is a close up.

I didn't want to use my own handwriting but my daughter insisted, she said that with writing that quote it should be in my own handwriting because it doesn't have to be perfect :)  Smart kid.  I hope you have enjoyed my first project here today, thanks for stopping by.

Score Pad-Curtsey Boutique

Game Night Score Pad
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Jenifer Cowles

We don't watch a lot of TV at our house but we do play a lot of games and we are always savaging around for some scratch paper to keep score on.

When I finished up with a big project I noticed that I had a bunch of perfect sized papers for a Score Pad.  I quickly bound it all together and put this fun cover on it and now we are ready to go.

Now playing games is even more fun and the kids fight over who gets to keep score.
