Halloween Glitter Dust fun- TOW

Happy Halloween everyone :)  I thought I would post a quick Witch hat makeover that was up on the Therm O Web blog yesterday :)  Be safe tonight!!

I think we all have a pretty worn and beat up witch hat sitting in our basement or attic from Halloweens past.  Well with a little bit of glitter dust you can vamp up your witch hat for another season or use it for a cool display.
Spray your hat with a few coats of Iridescent Glitter Dust to really make it sparkle.

Add some cute ribbons, lace, paper feathers and even a few flowers to your hat for a wonderful new make over.

Land of the Free-Wow

Hi, this is Jenifer here with you today to share my Stars and Stripes post.  Stars and Stripes always remind me of the United States, the Flag and the 4th of July but I wanted to create a more subtle layout for my post.
This is really a simple layout that packs a big punch.  I did the stars using Melt it California Sunshine, Earthtone Honey and Sierra Sunrise.I then created the stripes using a ruler and a Wow Pen and embossing powders Earthtone blueberry, Earthtone Honey and Skyline Grey.  I love how it all came together, all the colors blend perfectly.

Easy Zipper pouch-Therm O Web/Moda

I don't think I ever shared this little zipper pouch that was up on the Moda Site :)  How cool is that...

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share a quick and easy zipper pouch using BobbinsNBits from Moda and the PeelNStick ruler tape from ThermOWeb.  These are so easy to make you will be making them for gifts for everyone you know.

Easy Zipper Pouch by Jenifer Cowles
Put a few of the 12" segments of the PeelNStick Ruler tape on your cutting surface, this will make cutting quick and easy.
Cut out 4 9x7 pieces 2 for the outside of the bag and 2 for the inside of the bag.  Baste the top of the outside fabric to the top of the lining fabric, press 1/4" from the top.  Sew on your zipper to both sides of your basted edges.
Unzip half way.  Sew the remaining 3 sides together and turn right side out through the zipper you left unzipped.  Your pouch is finished.

To make a cute little zipper tassel take some 1/8" ribbon and cut 6-6" lengths.  Fold in half and wrap with a small piece of ribbon, tack it down with a few stitches and attache it to the zipper.

Here is your finished zipper pouch to fill with all kinds of goodies or to help keep your purse organized.  Thanks so much for taking a look at my project today.

Autumn Wall Hanging-May Arts

This is Jenifer here with you today to share a fun Autumn project.  Don't get me wrong, I love fall but I sometimes have a hard time letting go of the flowers and all the green that spring and summer have to offer.  So my Autumn wall hanging does have some muted flowers and some pink I just couldn't help it.  All the flowers are hand made :)  No store bought flowers here :)

Trace around the embroidery hoop and add 1/2" on to the desired patterned paper.  Cut out the circle and cut little cuts every 1/4-1/2" all the way around.  This will give you a nice smooth surface and adhere with Super Tape.  Gather 10" of the Ruffle burlap from both ends of the center string and tie in a knot, using a jumbo zot  loop the strings in the zot giving the flower character.  Layer many of the May Arts flowers together and sew them together with some pearl beads.  Gather the silk ribbon with a quick basting stitch and follow the same guidelines as the ruffle burlap ribbon.  Fold a May Arts flower in quarters and wrap them around a few stamens and you get these beautiful little blooms.  Cut a couple inches of the wired pearls and wrap them around a pencil to get these fun little pearl tendrils.  When you are done with your flower cluster, slightly ruffle some more of the ruffle burlap ribbon and using the super tape adhere it to the outside of the embroidery hoop.  Hand and admire :)

May Arts Ribbons Used:
463-58-17 Ruffled Burlap
439- Flowers in Cream
420-33 Paper Cord
FY09 Wired Pearls
SK17-Silk Ribbon

Polka Dot Burlap Bag

I have a cute little party bag up on the Curtsey Blog :)
Polka Dot Burlap Bag
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Jenifer Cowles

Jenifer shares a clever way to embellish our burlap bags with us today. She stenciled them with polka dots!  So clever.

To ensure her closure matched her flower and trim she removed the standard twine and replace it with our white seam binding.
