Love Tags

If you are anything like me you have a bunch of scraps of precious ribbon that you just can’t part with.  I decided to come up with something to use up those tiny scraps.
These tags are from Core'dinations and all ready to go.  I wanted it to be simple and delicate, and went with a pretty tone on tone format with a little silver metallic pop.  This could easily be for Valentine home d├ęcor or for a girl’s room year round.
L Tag-I used SK01, 368-15-17, PV35, 389-18-31, and 377-38-31.  I just ran a long running stitch along one side of the white silk and pulled it tight and knotted it and layered one of my ribbon flowers on top.  Layer some ribbons at the bottom and you are done.
O Tag- I used 389-18-17, 389-18-31, and 361-58-01.  I used some crape paper and did the same as the silk ribbon.  I used some Wow embossing powder in Opaque Pastel Pink with a Wow Brocade stamp then I just punched out 6 heart shapes.  I folded the hearts in half and glued them all together to create this 3d heart.
V Tag- I used 390-78-09, 393-25-17, 377-38-31 and FR17.  I cut around the flower on the ribbon and added it as an individual flower, glued a little heart off to one side and added leftover bits to the bottom.  I also added some bling to the lace, just for that little extra pop.
E Tag- I used 377-38-31 and 390-78-09.  Same technique with the crape paper and just a heart that I cut out from a doily glued over top.
I hope you have enjoyed my project and I have given you some hope for those little bits of scraps laying around.  I would love to see what you create leave me a link and I will go check it out.

I love You Pillowcase

Here is a fun project that I have up at ThermOWeb and on May Arts today, thanks so much for looking.
The finished size is 20”x30”.
You will need:
  • 72 3” blocks; you could use up your scraps, and 2 3”x30” solid strips, and a 20”x30” piece for the back.
  • Therm-O-Web HeatNBond Lite
  • And of course you need May Arts Ribbons 389-18-14, 389-18-17, DD-17, 330-17

  1. Sew all the blocks together in 12 blocks per row.
  2. Sew the rows together in pairs.
  3. Sew the solid strips between the pairs adding the grosgrain Ric Rac down on each side of the strip.  You then add the 1/8” velvet on top of the solid strip.  Repeat.
  4. Quilt as desired.
  5. Hand embroider your message.
  1. Add Heart or other object as desired with HeatNBond
  1. Prepare back, I used a 3”x30” patterned fabric for fun on the back with the 1/8” velvet along the seams, but you could easily use a solid backing.
  1. Sew front to back wrong sides together.
  2. Bind your edges.
  3. Add ribbons to the ends to close your pillow together.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today.  I think I am going to make these for other Holidays and maybe even Birthdays, I think these would be great keepsakes that could be handed down for generations.  Please leave a link if you make one I would love to check it out.
